A simple buttercream dessert board is a delicious dessert charcuterie platter that you can customize to any season and display a variety of sweet treats, candies, cookies, and fruit.
This color combo is so fun for Summer and the Fourth of July! You might also love this Fourth of July cheesecake I shared earlier this week. It’s so festive and delicious!

This yummy dessert board is one of my favorite desserts to make for any gathering because you can whip it up in 15 minutes and it’s usually gone in 15 minutes, too! I shared this simple summer version with my teen daughter and her friends and THEY WENT BONKERS!
Gatherings to make this Simple Summer Buttercream Dessert Board for:
- Summer party or BBQ
- Fourth of July
- Mother’s or Father’s Day gathering
- Pool day
- Bridal or Baby shower
- Summer birthday party
- Teen friend party

Ingredient list for Simple Summer Buttercream Dessert Board:
- Buttercream frosting: Salted butter, powdered sugar, salt, lemon extract, milk
- Fruit of your choice. For this board I used strawberries, blackberries and blueberries.
- Graham crackers and any other cookie you like best. Nilla Wafers would also work well for this specific board.
Ideas for other buttercream board dippers:
- Pretzels
- Nilla Wafers
- Pirouette cookies
- Teddy Grahams
- Apple slices
- Krispie Treats
- Wafer cookies
- Mini chocolate chip cookies

- Make the buttercream yourself! Trust me. You might be tempted to purchase frosting from the store, but this whips up (literally!) in a minute or two, and it is SO delicious!
- Use any cookies, candies, crackers or fruit you love best. I wanted to stick to a lobster/ocean theme for this one, but you can really make it however you’d like. Be creative and have fun!
- Make sure your fruit is properly washed and DRIED before adding it to your board. You don’t want squished fruit or any extra liquids coming off of it or it will leak into the crackers and frosting.
- It’s best to make this board just before serving so that the fruit doesn’t start to break down over the crackers. You want them to stay nice and dry for when you serve it!
- Do not stress over the shape of the lobster. Just make simple cuts on your strawberries and put it together! IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE PERFECT.
