This simple holiday freezer slush drink has such a nostalgic, old-fashioned feel and makes a delicious punch to share at any gathering! It’s easy to make, perfect for adults and kids, and will quickly become a must-have tradition at your Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s table.

Reasons you’ll love this recipe:
This old-fashioned punch brings back memories of family celebrations and recipes passed down through the generations. My sister-in-law makes this recipe for our family every Thanksgiving and Christmas and it makes the meal feel extra special!
The grape and orange juice create such a fruity base in this drink, while the lemon juice adds a bright, tart balance.
Freezing the fruit mixture creates an icy, refreshing treat that’s somewhere between a frozen punch and a slushy.
Adding ginger ale adds the perfect amount of bubbly fizz and sparkle. I would suggest this over sprite or 7-up because you don’t need any extra sweetness.
The juice base can be prepared ahead so you can have it ready to go for any gathering.
The color makes a festive addition to any holiday table and you can serve it in fancy cups (or these cute cups I found on amazon!) and add any pretty garnish you like. It was fun to add grapes on a cocktail pick but a cherry, orange slice, or even cranberries or rosemary could be really pretty with this drink.

To make this simple freezer slush drink, mix together a simple syrup by dissolving sugar in water, and adding grape, orange, and lemon juice once cooled. Freeze the mix in good freezer bags or a (glass pan if desired), and keep in the freezer until you are ready to use it. Break the concentrate into pieces with the back of a wooden spoon, and serve into party cups. Top with ginger ale and enjoy this sparkly delicious holiday drink that feels fancy and special!
I found these darling party cups on Amazon and they are PERFECT for this drink!

Ingredient list for this Simple Holiday Freezer Slush Drink
- Sugar
- Water
- Grape Juice
- Orange Juice
- Lemon Juice
- Ginger Ale

Freezing your concentrate:
You can freeze all the liquid in a glass pan if desired, but adding it to gallon freezer bags has proven to be the easiest way to do it! Using 3 bags allows you to just use what you need and keep the extras frozen for later if desired. Splitting the concentrate into 3 bags also makes breaking up the pieces really quick and easy, as well as just keeping them in the freezer without giving up one of your pans.

Ingredients
Method
- Combine sugar and water in saucepan and heat until completely dissolved. Cool.Add grape, orange, and lemon juice. Pour equal amounts into 3 quality gallon sized freezer bags (I just use ziplock gallon freezer bags). Seal well and lay flat on a cookie sheet. Freeze overnight or until solid. Keep frozen until ready for use. When ready to serve, remove from freezer and break up using the back of a wooden spoon or rolling pin. Break into chunks and fill cups about 2/3 full with slush. Top with Ginger Ale and enjoy as the concentrate dissolves. Makes about 10 1 cup servings. I like to double this recipe depending on group size.
