This year I wanted to create a Christmas Tree that is rich in color and full of natural textures. To achieve this, I combined branches, hydrangeas, sugared fruit and pinecones, with a touch of elegance and old world charm. For the color scheme I used burgundy, plum, mauve, antique gold, bronze and lime green/mauve florals. I hope you find some inspiration from our burgundy and rustic elegance Christmas tree! (EVERYTHING IS LINKED IN THIS POST NEAR THE END)

I have created many different Christmas tree themes over the years. Each of them is like an art project to me! Each year I choose a color scheme and a theme that helps give purpose to my tree and decor. It always makes the holiday season feel extra special. This year’s theme is comfort and joy.

Why comfort and joy? I chose this theme for my holiday decor as a reminder that we have the power to create a certain feeling in our home. We can make our homes full of comfort and full of joy depending on what we choose to focus on. Happiness and gratitude in small and simple things is such an easy way to do it!

This burgundy and rustic elegance theme brings together deep reds with plum, touches of mauve, warm antique gold accents, delicate ribbons and an abundance of natural elements for a very handmade Christmas feel. I love the balance of rustic and elegant together, and the combination of textures from shiny glass, to soft velvet, pinecones, dried florals, and sugared fruit.

I was inspired to combine the romantic charm of old world Christmas touches with rustic elements and bold, rich colors to create this look. The finished tree feels collected, handmade, nostalgic and inviting! This tree is really beautiful with its upswept branches and 8000 fairy lights. I also added an antique harvest basket at the base to really pull together the European vibe and vintage feel.

Cozy lighting and my favorite faux candles

I have used these faux candles and hurricane vases for 2 years now and LOVE them! They are so elegant and bring such a cozy warmth to our winter season and holiday decor. I have 4 sets of candles. I will link them below with the hurricanes and the batteries I use in them.

Whether you’re looking for burgundy Christmas tree decorating ideas or simply want to incorporate more natural elements into your holiday decor this year, I hope this tree inspires you to create something beautiful and uniquely yours in your home this season. You can use creativity you create beauty anywhere and in any space! Nature is one of my favorite ways to do this. You might enjoy this post with 7 inexpensive Christmas decorating ideas.
