- Vanilla bean yogurt
Tips for making this recipe
The addition of ice is optional with this smoothie. If you want to stretch it a little further or even change the consistency, adding ice is great for that! You can also add more or less of the almond milk to make your smoothie thick or thin.
The combination of different fruits add such a brightness and vibrant flavor for this drink. We absolutely LOVE combining vanilla yogurt and cream of coconut to the fruit. It results in the most creamy flavor and texture. I highly reccoment using the Coco Lopez brand of cream of coconut. Simply open the can, scoop it all out into a bowl and whisk until it is combined. After adding some to your smoothie, you can store the rest in the refrigerator in an airtight container and use again another day.
The banana in the smoothie is optional. Bananas can definitely dominate in flavor so I choose to only add half of a banana in this recipe. Bananas are a wonderful sweetener, they also thicken and naturally add creaminess to smoothies!
Tips for Blending Favorite Creamy Strawberry Fruit Smoothie
If you enjoy a bolder flavor, skip the ice and use frozen fruit! You can use frozen banana, pineapple and strawberries in this recipe so ice is not required for it. If you are looking for a low sugar version, use frozen strawberries and omit the cream of coconut. Sweeten with pure maple syrup.
Add all ingredients to your blender, making sure the liquid goes in first (for easier blending). I like to start out with the “mix” button and then once everything comes together I switch to the “puree” or even “liquify” to really make sure it blends super smooth!
Serve smoothie immediately and enjoy! I love to serve this smoothie with our favorite homemade soft buttered pretzels, it’s really just the perfect combo of salty and sweet and my kids love it!
