School District Peanut Butter Candy

Handmade Farmhouse
Course Dessert, Snack
Cuisine American

Ingredients

  • 1 stick melted butter
  • 1/2 cup PLUS 2 Tablespoons Plain or crunchy peanut butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup graham crack crumbs
  • 3/4 cup milk chocolate chips semi-sweet can also be used

Instructions

  • Melt the butter and whisk in peanut butter.
Add powdered sugar and mix until incorporated.
    Add in graham cracker crumbs.
Press peanut butter "dough" into an 8x8 pan (I like to line mine with parchment paper so I can lift the dessert out to cut once its set).
Heat chocolate chips in the microwave. Stir every 30 seconds to avoid seizing. Once smooth, spread chocolate on the top of the peanut butter mixture. Allow to set and dry. I like to put it in the fridge to speed up the process if I am in a hurry.
    Slice into squares and enjoy!
*SEE NOTE for Gluten Free option

Notes

*This recipe can be made GLUTEN FREE by substituting GF graham cracker crumbs or 3/4 gluten free rice krispies in place of the regular crumbs.
