Wash, peel and boil potatoes until fork tender.In a very large bowl, add strained potatoes and butter, ranch powder, sour cream, salt and onion powder. Use a potato masher or mixer to whip potatoes until smooth.Fold in cheese and bacon bits. I like to add about 2 tablespoons heavy cream and fold in just to add a bit of moisture and creamy texture. Pour into a crockpot and keep on warm until ready to serve.Garnish with chives, cheese and bacon bits if desired.
