During the holiday season, we love to make delicious treats like these easy butter mints, simple butter cookies, famous Christmas fudge, and the easiest holiday caramels. But if you want to bring something unique and special to your holiday parties, this easy homemade crockpot wassail is an awesome option!


Traditional food and desserts are always the highlight of our holiday season but I love to include our rich and creamy crockpot hot cocoa, this easy spiced apple cider and this delicious creamy pumpkin spice steamer for something cozy. If you want to skip baking something this holiday season, you can even make a big batch of this wassail and drop it by to your neighbor or take as a hostess gift in a jar!



Ingredient list for Easy Homemade Crockpot Wassail
This recipe is made with simple ingredients. When combined, your home will smell just like Christmas morning!
- Apple Juice (I use Tree Top honeycrisp apple juice)
- Orange Juice
- Pineapple Juice
- Brown sugar
- Water
- Salt
- Ground Clove
- Whole cloves
- Cinnamon sticks
- Ground cinnamon
- Cranberries
- Star Anise
- Sliced oranges and apples

Steps for making this easy wassail
- Mix juices in your crockpot and turn heat to low
- Add in spices and brown sugar. Mix well
- Add garnish items (sliced oranges, apples, star anise, cranberries and cinnamon sticks)
- Allow to heat in crockpot on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 (you can also put on high or make on a stovetop if you need it done sooner!)
Ladle into mugs and garnish each cup with orange slices, cinnamon sticks or fresh cranberries. You could put these on a cocktail toothpick so they’re easy to remove.
Serve this recipe warm at any holiday party, open house or cozy winter night at home!
This recipe can be made ahead, cooled and reheated the next day or when you need it. We usually use ours within 4-5 days keeping it refrigerated after making.

Ingredients
- 64 Oz Apple juice (I use Tree Top Honeycrisp)
- 1 Cup Pineapple Juice
- 2 Cups Orange Juice
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/8 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/8 Teaspoon Ground Clove
- 1 Cup Water
Garnish ingredients
- Star Anise
- Sliced apples with clove pressed in
- Orange Slices
- Cinnamon Sticks
- 1/2 Cup Fresh Cranberries
Instructions
- Add juice and spices to your slow cooker.
- Whisk until combined.
- Press cloves into apple slices.
- Add oranges, apples, cranberries and anise to your mix.
- Slow cook on low for 4-5 hours or high 2-3 hours.
- Once fragrant and hot, switch to warm.
- This can be made quicker in a pot on the stove if desired.
- Serve warm in mugs or cool and store in the fridge for 4-5 days.

Variations for this recipe
- Love citrus? Add some lemon slices to add a little extra citrus flavor.
- Deepen the spices by adding a pinch of nutmeg or a little more clove or cinnamon.
- You can make this cider sweeter with more brown sugar or remove all sugar and sweeten with honey, pure maple syrup or agave nectar.
