The graham cracker crumbs make a great simple “crust” and add a delicious texture to the dessert. If you aren’t a lover of strawberries, you can easily swap out the fruit for blueberries, peaches, mangos, raspberries or anything else you love. Take note, the fruit needs to be dried well before adding as the juices will start to make the filling runny over time.
Easy steps for making Old Fashioned Strawberry Marshmallow Dessert:
- Sprinkle the graham cracker crumbs in the pan.
- Melt your milk and marshmallow mixture and let it cool.
- Whip the heavy cream until you get stiff peaks.
- Slice your strawberries into thin slices. Dab them with paper towel to remove extra moisture.
- Fold heavy cream into melted marshmallow mixture to make the filling.
- Layer strawberries and marshmallow cream twice. Garnish with extra crumbs.

Old Fashioned Strawberry Marshmallow Dessert
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream Whipped until stiff peaks
- 1 pound Fresh strawberries Washed, dried well and sliced thin
- 16oz Marshmallows I use one bag of the large marshmallows

Instructions
- In a medium sauce pan, heat 1 cup of milk. Turn heat to low and add 16 ounces of marshmallows. Stir occasionally until melted. Remove from heat and pour into a bowl to cool. Wash and dry (well) strawberries. Slice into thin pieces. Whip 1 cup of heavy cream until you have stiff peaks and set aside. Sprinkle dry graham cracker crumbs (all but 2 tablespoons) into the bottom of a 9X13 pan. When marshmallow mixture has cooled, fold in the whipped cream. Use a spatula to fold until everything is well incorporated. Add one layer of sliced strawberries on the graham cracker crumbs. Pour a half of the marshmallow cream on top. Use a spoon to even the mixture if needed. Add a second layer of strawberries. Pour remainder of marshmallow cream on top. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of crumbs for topping. Chill to set for at least 2 hours. Enjoy cold!

Tips for success:
- Use fresh strawberries that are ripe and flavorful! After washing, dry well, After slicing, dab with paper towel to remove any extra moisture before adding to the crumbs in layers.
- You can use store bought graham cracker crumbs or crush your own using graham crackers. Just be sure to crush them finely.
- Do not add any extra sugar to the cream because the marshmallows are very sweet and will sweeten the filling and cream all you need.
- Be sure to give this dessert time to chill and set! Eat it the day you make it for the best texture and flavor.
