Fall living room: bringing the outdoors in. What does it mean to me?

When autumn arrives, one of my favorite things to do is to gather natural elements from the changing season, and include them in my fall decorating. There is something so cozy and inviting about bright-colored leaves and the rich colors of fall.

This fall I was very drawn to moody plums and copper tones. I had so much fun gathering items from around the house to tie in with this color palette.

By clipping branches in the yard, I was able to bring autumn indoors to display on my coffee table. I collected some pillows, a scarf, some pumpkins and a cozy knit throw blanket that tied in with the leaves.

Using items you have on hand saves money and encourages creativity! Try checking for hats, scarves, blankets, pillows and even sweaters to display before buying new.

Sometimes we feel the need to go overboard with decor. Simplicity always wins in my book! I liked the look of these fall leaves and pumpkins simply placed on my console table.
