In a few easy steps you can create this fall DIY pumpkin vase to enjoy all season long. What a fun decor piece! Make it for your dining table, Thanksgiving decor, a seasonal office decoration, to give a teacher, or for a wedding table centerpiece!
Fall is absolutely the most cozy time of year and a few of our favorite things to make are these delicious 6 minute microwave caramels, caramel apples, pumpkin chocolate chip bread and my all-time favorite pumpkin sheet cake.
Fall DIY Pumpkin Vase varieties
Get creative, the possibilities are endless! I chose to make my fall DIY pumpkin vase faux so it would last, but a fresh version would be stunning. You can use any color of pumpkin and floral combo you can think of. For fresh, you would need to hollow out the pumpkin and add a vase of water for live stems.
My faux pumpkin had a styrofoam center, which made it so easy to press faux floral stems into for my arrangement. If your faux pumpkin is hollow, simply place a vase or cup inside to help secure the floral stems. Add a foam insert to help secure them if needed.
Items to add to your fall floral arrangement:
- Mini pumpkin stems
- Acorns on skewers
- Branches
- Fall picks from Hobby Lobby
- Berry stems
- Feathers
- Pine cones

Ideas for a budget fall DIY pumpkin vase
Need to make a budget version of this DIY? No problem! Use a garden pumpkin or grab one from the store. Use dried weeds such as dock, cattails or dried sunflowers to create a lovely arrangement. Corn stocks, mini pumpkins, acorns on skewers, pinecones or even feathers would also be a beautiful to add!
Supply list for this faux Fall DIY Pumpkin Vase

- Faux Eucalyptus
Steps for making a Fall DIY Pumpkin Vase
- Using a sharp knife, cut out the stem of the pumpkin.
- I added 3 large sunflowers as the main stems for this centerpiece.
- I added berry stems in a deep amber color. They add a great texture and Fall color!
- Next I added 2 burgundy hydrangea stems and 3 large Dahlia shaped flowers that are a mix of the burgundy and amber color.
- Next up was adding 3 picks: mini pumpkins! You can find a great variety of these at Hobby Lobby.
- I then added a few eucalyptus stems. The green brought it to life! These eucalyptus stems are my very favorite. So realistic!
- Last of all I added some leafless branches. They brought height to the arrangement and a little artistic twist. I love how unruly they look.
Every time I see this centerpiece it makes me smile! It makes home feel cozy, welcoming, and so festive for fall. Now I want to make one to give to a friend! Wouldn’t this make the most lovely wedding centerpiece?
I added a strand of fairy lights to my pumpkin arrangement and styled the table with some candles. Instant cozy! This is a fun way to take this decor piece from day to night and make it really beautiful for an evening gathering.
These tiny mercury glass votives are a favorite for Fall tables.
