SHARING QUICK AND EASY SNACK TRAY HACKS YOU’LL LOVE FOR YOURSELF AND THE HUNGRY KIDDOS IN YOUR LIFE!
Lately my kids have been eating me out of house and home. It’s true! I have a 12 year old that has a bottomless pit for a stomach and he’s always looking for a snack. I’ve been working hard on creating snack trays around every corner (think car, fridge, pantry, and counter top) so we can avoid fast-food trips after school and give them all a quick healthy (or healthier) grab!

Snacks We Love
No, not every snack in this post is totally healthy. Yes, my kids eat snacks like crackers, fruit snacks and sweet treats. However, I want to show you some really great snacks we love, as well as some hacks I’ve found that work great with my always-hungry pre-teens!
Here is a shopping list of some pantry snacks my kids love for after school or between meals when they get hungry. These work great for the car, too!
- ZBAR (we LOVE the chocolate brownie flavor)
- Yogurt covered raisins
- Granola bars
- Peanut butter sandwich crackers
- Fruit leather
- Tuna packs (my son loves these!)
- Personal popcorn packs or Smart pop
- Fruit Rolls
- Seaweed, sea salted snack packs
- Raisins or craisins
- Brownie Brittle
- Veggie Straws
- Jerky
Easy Snack Tray Hacks You’ll Love: Let’s talk containers!
I found this amazing spinning container that works PERFECTLY for storing our pantry snacks. It has two handles which makes it super easy to grab to take in the car on busy activity days, or fun to also set out on the counter for them when they are hungry between meals. I love how it spins with ease and that it’s clear so they can easily see the variety of snacks to choose from.
If you have younger kids, you might consider grabbing a pack of these awesome 4oz containers with lids. We originally got them for lunch boxes for dressings, dips etc. But they work perfectly for the snack tray too! Just fill them with yogurt raisins, trail mix, goldfish crackers, or anything smaller you want to share in a snack serving.
Fridge Snack Solutions
My ideal situation would be to always have fruits and veggies, or proteins like hard-boiled eggs or Greek yogurts prepped and ready to go in the fridge. It doesn’t happen often that I wash and prep all of those things. However, as it has become such a need with my kids’ current ages, I am definitely going to try to be better!
I found some amazing trays and containers that makes it super easy to prep and display the fridge snacks for the kids. It was important for me to again have clear containers so the kids can see all of the beautiful colors on display. After all, we do eat with our eyes first! I LOVE how these trays also instantly organized my fridge and made it pleasant to open and look at. Before this, it was unorganized and hard to find things shoved to the back of the shelves.
Now the kids know that all of the produce in the containers has been washed, which makes it easier for them to quickly grab when they are hungry. If I am being honest, I too, eat way more of the fresh stuff when its all prepped!
If you follow me on Instagram then you probably know how much I LOVE my airtight containers. I use them to store my baking ingredients and originally bought them in THIS SET. It’s been fun to have 4 of them in the fridge for fresh cut produce for the kids. Currently, ours are filled with fruit, veggies and cheese! The kids are so excited to have everything washed and ready to eat.
I always soak my grapes in a vinegar water and then rinse them. Then I like to either pull them off the vine or cut them into small sections for an easy grab for snacking.
Movie night or Afternoon Snack Tray
My kids go crazy when I take the time to make them a “food tray”! They absolutely love it and they actually eat WAY more this way vs if the food is served on a plate. These trays are fun for adults too, and really you could do so many fun themes. Try changing things up and doing all the same color of food, make it a dessert tray or even holiday themed!
This snack hack is great for kiddos who struggle with their food touching. It works great for a food game or even getting picky eaters to try new things. It works great for a summer picnic snack solution!

For this snack hack all you will need is a cupcake pan! You could even use a mini if you wanted to fit a larger variety of snacks for your kiddos. Enjoy being creative with this one!
Snackle Box
Have you seen a snackle box? They’re so cute! You basically take a little craft “tackle box” and fill it with small snacks, treats or even little toys for kiddos to eat on a road trip (or flight!). They work great since they have lids. Here is a perfect container to use for one!
