I love sharing simple recipes you can whip up at home that feel extra special. This Easy Homemade Toasted Granola is absolutely a family favorite, in fact my 12 year old son adores it! I like that the recipe is very versatile, you can add some chai, flax, sesame, or sunflower seeds, walnuts or whatever you really want!
How to make Easy Homemade Toasted Granola:
I start by adding together the oats, seeds, coconut and nuts. Anything that is dry. Then you will make a simple syrup mixture that will come to a boil. I then add some baking soda to help the mixture expand and easily cover the granola. Last of all, we finish by baking it for a short time in the oven to give it a delicious toasted flavor and crunchy texture.
I love seeing the difference in the granola when you pull it out of the oven! It takes on the most beautiful golden color and baking it gives a delicious toasted flavor! This would be really fun to add to jars and share with friends and neighbors. We love snacking on it plain or adding it to vanilla bean yogurt, YUM! You could also eat it in a bowl with milk and fruit or use as a dessert topping!

I really like to add my granola to ziplock bags or these containers and freeze the extra! That way I can pull out a new container each week or once a month to enjoy.
We love our granola as a snack, over vanilla bean yogurt, with fruit or even in a bowl with milk. I hope you love and enjoy it and especially enjoy the sweet scent your kitchen will have when you make a batch! That’s the feeling of home, sweet friends!
