In this post you’ll learn my favorite tips to create a simple Thanksgiving tablescape that’s inviting and beautiful for gathering.
I wanted to set up a simple Thanksgiving tablescape this week, so I started collecting items that I had on hand. A common theme of cinnamon, rust, plum and amber tones quickly appeared. I love these rich fall colors, they are just so warm and inviting!
Are you hosting for the holidays this year? Here are some tips to create a simple centerpiece so you can avoid feeling overwhelmed.
- Decide on a color scheme. Stick to a few basic colors that are cohesive and “get along” so they compliment each other on the table.
- Shop your home BEFORE the store! You may be surprised at what you can collect around your home once you decide on a color scheme. This will save a lot of money and encourage creativity.
- Use different textures! I loved adding pumpkins, wood cutting boards, candles, a wood tote, a blanket scarf and glass to add visual interest to this table centerpiece.
- Add balance to your centerpiece by using items in 3’s or 5’s, as well as creating a high point in the center of the table and tapering down on the sides.
- If your centerpiece is “busy” use neutral or plain plates. If your plates have pattern and lots of interest, create a calm and simple centerpiece. Allow one thing to “take the show” and let the rest compliment it.
As you can see, I used some of the same items I used on my Halloween tablescape. I just love the way the blanket scarf married all these colors together.
This Thanksgiving I’ll be serving a delicious new drink I recently discovered. Have you heard of Sheffield Cider? They have the absolute most delicious non-alcoholic apple ciders. I was able to taste test their different blends and fell in love. This drink would be a wonderful addition to your holiday table, or make for a special gift. Their cider tastes just like your drinking it fresh-pressed there in the orchard! Very crisp with the most magnificent apple combinations. (Use coupon code “Emily” for 15% off your order).
I just love the flavors of fall. Have you tried these recipes yet?
- Gourmet caramel apples the easy way!
- My favorite pumpkin spice sheet cake
- Six-minute sea salted caramels
- The best homemade hoagie rolls
I hope you’re enjoying the start to this wonderful holiday season. Gathering family and friends to sit down and enjoy a good meal together just brings such joy.
Stay tuned as I’ll be sharing lots of fun recipes and ideas throughout November and December to hopefully help inspire you to create your own holiday tables and decor.
