Today I want to welcome you to our Cozy Bronze and Gold Christmas Tour. I hope you feel warm, welcome, and inspired as I share a few scenes from our home this season. I love setting up my decor a bit early because it usually takes me a good couple of weeks to get everything done around here. Once December comes, I can focus more on the traditions of the season instead of setting up. I also really love having the twinkling lights to comfort my mind when the time changes and it gets dark early!
This year I chose all neutrals for my holiday decor. If you’ve been around here for a while, that may surprise you! You know based on this post, and this one, that I love my pops of traditional red, white and green at Christmastime! I will admit, while I am loving the comforts of the cozy neutrals, I do miss my little red and white miniatures that I set on my hutch (see it in this post).
I snapped this image the night we lit our first fire of the season. It has been so cold this year! Only 13 degrees out that day, so we were all pretty excited to sit at the hearth and warm up! If you do not have a mantel to decorate, may I suggest using a console table or even a kitchen hutch to style with a garland. I’ve only had a fireplace for a handful of years so I learned to make other pieces in my home work to get a similar feeling for holiday decorating.
Incorporating special, collected or vintage/antique holiday decor:
I absolutely love using some of my grandmother’s and even my great-grandmother’s possessions in my home decor, especially during Christmastime. It helps me feel like I am keeping them close. I used my great-grandmother’s dough bowl to hold my grandmother’s vintage glass bulbs. This will hopefully help them stay a bit more protected vs hanging them on the tree with little ones around. I love the character and special meaning they added to the coffee table! What a fun conversation piece too!
Check out these darling acorns I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby in the Fall section. I knew since I was sticking with bronze and gold this season they would fit in perfectly and play off of the pinecones I have on my tree! I love them nestled in some moss in this large cement urn.
Simple kitchen holiday touches
I kept things really simple in the kitchen this season and just added some winter framed art, a new little lamp to help me when it gets dark early (I am loving this little lamp that has a dimmer switch!), and a few cedar picks in a crock with some fairy lights. I love this set of fairy lights, the batteries last super long if you turn them off at night!
I do think I’ll make some gingerbread sugar jars with neutral ribbon. Did you see that budget-friendly decor idea in this post? You’ll love it!
Bronze and Gold Christmas Tree
I am really really loving having mocha, bronze and gold in my tree this year! You can read all about my tree decor in this post. I would’ve never imagined using dark brown. I have loved how cozy and inviting it feels, especially with these big bows with brown striped ribbon (I’ll link it here!)
Bronze and gold christmas mantel
Did you catch this post about my holiday mantel? This look was all inspired by the art print I found that has a winter scene with kids in a snowball fight. It makes me so happy. You can read the full post here. The garland and stars are sold out for the season, but my favorite stockings can be purchased HERE! They are such beautiful dupes of the really expensive knit ones from big brands like LL Bean.
Simple music room touches:
By adding some cedar picks in this vase and wrapping it with a little bow with ribbon that matches my tree, this room is all ready for Christmas with just one simple touch! Don’t stress about going all out decorating your whole house for the holidays. You can achieve a festive look in so many simple ways.
As always, thank you so much for stopping by the blog today to check out our holiday home. I sure hope you felt inspired, gained some new ideas and most of all felt welcome here.
