Today I want to share a little tour of our music room and a some Christmas magic with twinkly lights. Dressing up this room has been such a fun and uplifting experience for me this season. Each day I so look forward to turning on all of the twinkly lights! If you missed my original post and some of the special meaning behind what inspired this look, check it out here.
I am excited to share with you a few simple and inexpensive tricks and tips on how to add the feeling of a magical Christmas to your home. Every evening when this room is glowing, I feel like I’m getting a big hug when I walk by! It is so warm and welcoming, cozy and inviting when everything is all lit up and sparkly.
This time of year is so fleeting, I’ve been trying to make an effort to slow down once a day and really take in the beauty. The soft light really lifts my spirits!
How to add Christmas magic with twinkly lights
- Fairy lights
- Incandescent tree lights
- Faux candles
I have tested out LED lights on our trees but the warm yellow incandescent pulls me back every time! LED is great but you will get more of a blue-white light. I also LOVE adding fairy lights in various places in our home all throughout fall and winter. The ones I use do not have a remote but they do have a very long life if you turn them off at night time! Adding flameless candles creates such a cozy vibe and you wont every have to worry about a fire. I love how they flicker just like a cozy candle!
Mirros and twinkly lights
Was there ever a better match made in heaven than twinkly lights and a mirror? I love how our Christmas tree shows through on the opposite side of the room! It’s cozy glow creates the MOST beautiful scene. I would highly recommend adding a mirror near your tree to double the effect of your stunning twinkly lights!
I am a huge fan of using faux candles, but I wanted to share something pretty I found if you include real candles on your holiday tables. This darling brass candle snuffer is from the Dollar Tree and it comes in silver and black, too! Such a pretty addition to our office room décor for only $1. It’s been so special to invite you into our home for the holidays. I hope that in some way you have felt inspired with ways you can create a cozy, inviting feeling in your space. Also, I hope that those who may be struggling with feelings of overwhelm, loss, sadness, or who are hoping for something at this time, feel loved and know you are not alone. Thank you for being here and for being such a loving support to me through this first holiday after loss.
