Christmas in the living room doesn’t have to be expensive or overcomplicated. Start by choosing 1-3 colors to help with cohesion. Build on those colors and make sure they compliment each other. Add items with special meaning to you. Don’t overthink it! There is beauty in simplicity.
This holiday season has been so fun with my little ones. I can’t seem to get enough of their excitement of Christmas! We are very traditional at our house, and look forward to holiday activities as a family each year.
As you know from my Christmas kitchen, and whimsical Christmas tablescape, I’ve really enjoyed creating magical little vignettes around my home the evoke “a childlike wonder” at Christmas time.
This year the Christmas tree turned out a little different than planned! I knew ahead of time that I really wanted to use those pops of cheery Christmas red, but what came after totally surprised me!
I ended up incorporating touches of blush and white with the red ornaments, and I absolutely LOVE how it turned out! Because I have a lot of other Christmas decor around our home, I decided to keep the tree really simple with round ornaments and just a few vintage Santas.
My trees are my forever trees and I absolutely love the quality and shape of this 9′ queen flocked tree. I also have one set up in my bedroom which is so cozy and romantic for the season!

My kids helped hang almost all of the ornaments on the tree on our first snow day of the season. I just love how it looks and didn’t have the heart to change a thing!
Do you remember last year’s Christmas decor? White, wood and evergreen? If you’re loving neutrals for Christmas you’ll want to check that out!
