It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Yes, it’s true! But it is often the most expensive time of the year as well. Christmas is about so much more than gift-giving and buying décor to deck the halls. While these things can be fun and enjoyable, putting stress on our bank account is not! 1. Santa mini tree in the entry way
For this easy budget DIY I simply recycled small jell-O and rice boxes from the panty. I wrapped them in pretty paper and then decorated a small tree (placed in a thrifted crock) with ornaments for our entry way.
2. Brown paper packages tied up with string
Calling all Julie Andrews! I love brown paper packages tied up with string so much that I made a wall hanging piece out of them! This DIY is SO easy, I simply wrapped recycled pantry boxes (like jell-O, rice, pasta, mac and cheese, and barley) with pretty paper. Then I hung them from a row of vintage hooks and topped them with a few stems of faux cedar from Hobby Lobby.
Here’s another view of one I made in 2018 for our entryway. This idea would be so fun to use for an advent calendar too!
3. Adding vintage bells
Grab yourself this set of 3 vintage-look bells and add them to your mantel, the bottom of a stairway railing or a mirror! Instant Christmas glam and it won’t break the bank. This set has lasted me for many years, I love using them on a wreath on my front door as well! Check out my Neutral Mercury glass and gold Christmas tree in this post.
4. Gingerbread in a jar
Okay this might be one of my very favorite budget-friendly décor ideas! I love love love using food-art as décor. for this DIY, simply whip up a batch of my favorite gingerbread. Decorate a few house cookies and trees and add some pretty frosting details. Now place the cookies inside a couple of jars with sugar in the bottom and…voila! You have yourself a snow-globe of sorts, and a beautiful wintery kitchen or coffee table décor piece for next to nothing!
5. Simple Tree in vintage enamel bowl
I was so lucky to inherit 2 beautiful enamel bowls from my great grandmother. I always love to incorporate items that were passed down to me in my décor (especially making them special during the holidays!). Can you believe this quick snapshot went viral on pinterest!?
